Five Fan Favorites: April Edition



Hello, Internet! The time has come for another edition of Five Fan Favorites, which is a new segment where you can get a little peek inside my mind. I do hope you enjoy, so without further adieu, let’s get to it!
Favorite Book: My favorite book in the month of April was The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh, which is the sequel to The Wrath & The Dawn. This book was just the perfect conclusion to an already perfect series! If you haven’t heard about The Wrath & The Dawn yet, it’s a retelling of One Thousand and One Nights. In this version, a cruel boy-king, the Caliph of Khorasan, takes on a new wife every day, killing the one prior at dawn. Shahrzad’s best friend fell victim to this vicious cycle, so she sets out to exact revenge on the king. She arrives at the palace not only planning to survive the dawn but to take down the Caliph in the process. But everything is not what is seems because Khalid is nothing like Shahrzad expected him to be.
This series is so amazing. I can’t give enough credit to Renee Ahdieh because she did a spectacular job.

The way I see it, everyone has a dream. Everyone has something they want to do or be. The happiness you get from thinking about what it would be like to have that come true is what makes life interesting. Your imagination is your only limit. I dream of big things. I want to act, I want to write. I want to do things that I’m passionate about. Those are the things that I dream of. But most of all, I just want to be happy. I know that even though some of my dreams may not be realistic, I want to be happy with wherever I end up. To me, that’s the meaning of life. To be happy.
Favorite Book Cover: This one goes to The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. It was between this and This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, but in the end, The Sun is Also a Star won. It’s colorful and full of life, which I think is a great representation of the book itself. It’s also an amazing book, so go check that out!
Favorite Word: I’m really into the word “pretentious” this month. I’ve been saying it a lot, whether it’s in context or not. I feel like it’s a sophisticated word, and I like the sound of it.

Zenith: The Androma Saga Part 1 Review

Hello, internet! If you are involved in the community of BookTube, then you have probably heard of Sasha Alsberg a.k.a abookutopia. If you have no idea what the heck BookTube is, much less who Sasha Alsberg is, then I'll explain. BookTube is basically a community of YouTubers who's main category of video topics is books and literature. Now that you know, go browse BookTube! I recommend abookutopia (Sasha) polandbananasbooks , jessethereader , and readbyzoe . They're all amazing, and I watch them all the time. Okay, back to the original point! If you are an abookutopia fan, you will know that she is writing a book with author Lindsay Cummings called Zenith: The Androma Saga. You will also know that as of now, it is only available as an eBook and will be released in parts, which is kind of a bummer, but I'm going to read it all the same. August Wrap Up

Hello, Internet! Ring the shame bell, go ahead, because I only finished three books this month. Shame. Now, you may be thinking, “Ariana, three books in a month is normal!” Not for me, it’s not. Le sigh, for I have been hit with a reading slump. Duh duh duuuuuuuuun! That is right, chicken pies, I have been in a reading slump for most of the month of August. I only finished two books, and I started three, but didn’t finish them. I’ll mention them in the wrap up anyway. Do you know what I’ve learned in the past three weeks? School is time consuming! And this is before my extra curricular activities. And you might have noticed that the title and thumbnail only say August Wrap Up, and not September TBR. That is simply because setting goals for me is hard.
