Morale is low. Content is lacking. We are in severe trouble.
So what does the introverted bookworm who runs this blog do? She does a Q & A with an un-original title!
Hello, Internet! Yes, that’s right, I’m doing a Q & A that's title includes alliteration because my name just so happens to start with an A. I reached out to you guys on QuizUp (don’t judge, it’s a cool app) and said to ask me questions about anything, so I’ll be answering those questions today!
Now I will admit, this is an attempt to get more content out on my blog, and I realize it might not be entertaining for some of you. But bear with me until I can get out of this funk. I’m trying my best.
Anyway, let’s get to the Q & A!
If you had to let a fictional character take over all your social media who would it be? - Riya Nair, QuizUp
I think I would choose Feyre from the ACOTAR series for this one. My social media feeds are usually very ugly and a total smorgasbord of random things, so I think she would fill them with pictures of her art and just rock the whole aesthetic thing. My aesthetic is “random things I saw on a walk and took pictures of” I think I would definitely benefit from her taking over my social media.
Then again, I think if Percy Jackson took it over, they would be the funniest social media pages on the planet. Just imagine it.
What’s your favorite book quote/the most meaningful quote? -Aelin Whitethorn, QuizUp
I have a mason jar that I keep on my bookshelf. Every time I finish a book, I take a slip of paper and write my favorite quote from that book on it. I can bet you that there are at least one hundred slips of paper in there, but the one I like the most is “At every moment, each person has the freedom to choose a different path, thereby changing the trajectory of his life. Nothing is set in stone.” and that is from Parallel by Lauren Miller. My life is something quite uneventful. I wrote all about it in an entry on my Wattpad, titled What If, so you can check that out if you’d like. But all in all, my life is headed to a pretty boring place. But I like knowing that someday, somehow, I can do something that could change that. I like knowing that maybe, just maybe I’m not stuck in a cycle of mundanity.
What is your guilty pleasure series/book? -Aelin Whitethorn, QuizUp
Okay, before I start, I want you—nay, need you—not to laugh. Because I think this is one of the most embarrassing confessions I’ve ever made. My guilty pleasures series is the WaterFire Saga by Jennifer Donnelly. Why is this embarrassing, you may ask?
It’s about mermaids.
Yep.
My guilty pleasures series is about mermaids, and I’m 100% okay with that. Honestly, I think it’s just that it’s darn fun to read about mermaids and such. It’s different, which I like.
What’s the craziest fangirl experience you’ve had? -Aelin Whitethorn, QuizUp
Not gonna lie, I haven’t had many crazy fangirl experiences. My experiences within the book community are pretty tame. I do have a story which is pretty cool. I went Black Friday shopping with my friend and dragged her along to Barnes & Noble with me (of course) and I got some books. When I went up to the checkout, the checkout person asked if I had any coupons, and I said no, so she hooked me up with a 20% off discount. I said thank you so much and pulled out three twenties (I come prepared. I slay Black Friday) and her eyes widen, and you can tell she kinda regretted giving a kid with sixty dollars a discount. But yeah, that’s pretty much the extent of my “crazy fangirl experiences.” It wasn’t really a fangirl experience either, but that’s okay.
What is your all time favorite book/series? -Lydia Foster, QuizUp
I have so many favorite books, it’s hard to choose. But right now, my absolute favorite is the A Court of Thorns and Roses series because
A) the concept is A+
B) Feyre is badass
C) Rhysand. Just Rhysand
But in all seriousness, I love how Sarah J Maas made Feyre so powerful and strong. Not only in this series, but in the Throne of Glass series as well. I can’t stress how important it is for young women everywhere to have role models, and Feyre shows them how to be strong and independent, and that makes her so amazing.
Do you have any other hobbies/things you like other than reading? -Lydia Foster, QuizUp
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t read 24/7. I love to act and sing, as well as write. For me, being on stage is like breathing air. I’ve been in four productions in the last two years, and I’m in a choir. I also love to write a lot. I write mostly short stories which I publish on Wattpad. At one point I wrote a Mortal Instruments fanfic, but that has been deleted because if anyone else reads it I will die of embarrassment. Also, I can play the ukulele (how basic though) so that’s a fun thing. I don’t do any sports, because ew, and art is a bit of a weak spot for me unless it’s drawing little aliens on the corners of my homework.
What’s your favorite color? -Lydia Foster
My favorite color is nothing special. It’s grey. I like it because it reminds me of the color of the sky just before it rains. I live in a place where it rains at least once a week, and I love it so much. I love the way it smells outside and I love the cozy feeling of sitting in my room and watching the raindrops on my window. And yes, I spell it grey even though I live in America because it feels more elegant and natural.
And that is all I have for you today! Thank you so much to everyone who submitted questions, it’s greatly appreciated! Now I’m going to go make some tea because my throat hurts, so I’ll see you guys in the next blog post!
Thanks for reading,
-Ari
