The King of Books Tag!

Image
Hello, internet! Doing book tags is a thing in the BookTube community, but I don't have a YouTube channel dedicated to talking about bookish things. Good thing I have a blog, though! Tags are a pretty simple thing: you get asked questions and you answer them. No one tagged me because I'm awkward and no one knows me and no one really reads this blog, but if you do I thank you! You could be doing important things right now, like going outside or reading a book. Literally anything else. But you're here, so thanks! Alright I've been talking too long let's get started! TINY UPDATE: I went online to get the questions, but it turns out that the name of the tag is actually 'The Ruler of Books' but I already made the thumbnail and I'm too lazy to make another one, so for us it's going to be The King of Books. I mean, what did you expect, it's me. And anyone can be a King if they want, so yeah. The rules: You're the King of books (...

Lord of Shadows Booktalk

Image
Okay, so as I’m writing this, I literally just finished reading Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. My eyes are still raw from tears, that’s how recent it was. And it. Was. Amazing. Before we go any further, I’m just going to say that this post is going to be full of spoilers. So if you haven’t read The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, and The Dark Artifices all the way through (and that includes Lord of Shadows) then DO NOT READ THIS POST! I’m warning you, I really am. I’m not even going to put a disclaimer before spoilers. It’s just going to be me venting about stuff that happened in this book, so beware. I shall not be held accountable if you get spoiled, because I warned you. Got it? Good. So. This book. What can I really say, except that it was so beautiful that there isn’t a word to describe it. It was so, so good. I think that the plot for the entire TDA series is just a work of art. So far, there are three series’ in the Shadowhunter world. So far, we know...

The Screaming Staircase Spoiler-Free (for the most part) Review

Image
Hello, Internet! I'm going to be honest, The Screaming Staircase was a hard book to get into for me. When it would usually take me a week, maybe a week and a half to read a book this size, it took me almost a whole four weeks, because it was hard to get interested. That might be due to the fact that this series seems like middle grade, and I'm not usually into those types of books. But I kept reading, mostly because I was recommended it and that person really wanted me to do a review (hey what's up) but it also has gotten so many good reviews and I wanted to see what it was like. And man, did it end good! Up until the part where Lockwood, Lucy, and George get to Combe Carey Hall, the book is pretty uneventful. Sure, they go on a hunt at the beginning and set a house on fire, blah blah blah, but the real action gets there when Fairfax comes into the picture. As they go through the Red Room and the Screaming Staircase, the mystery of Annabel Ward's murder unfolds....
